A wall-mounted sorter with three angled bins for mail or magazines, built from a single 1x2 and one piece of 1/4" plywood — a true scrap-bin project.

For ripping the plywood strips cleanly; a circular saw and straightedge also work.

1. Build the frame
Tools: Drill / Driver, Miter Saw, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 1x2 board, 10 ft, Pocket-hole screws, 1-1/4"
Build the 1x2 frame with 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" screws. Use the bin sides themselves as spacers to set the middle rails, so you don't have to measure the spacing.
2. Attach the bin sides
Tools: Brad Nailer, Table Saw. Materials: 1/4" plywood or hardboard, 24" x 48", Brad nails or staples, 3/4"–1", Wood glue and cyanoacrylate glue
Cut the angled bin sides (25°, 3/4" short end) and glue-and-nail or staple them to the frame, flush to the back, with 3/4" or 1" fasteners. The angle tips each bin back so contents stay put.
3. Glue on the fronts and finish
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1/4" plywood or hardboard, 24" x 48", Brad nails or staples, 3/4"–1", Wood glue and cyanoacrylate glue
Glue the bin fronts on with cyanoacrylate glue and let it fully cure before moving the piece. Add a 1/4" plywood back with glue and short nails if you want it enclosed. Finish and hang on the wall.
