Easy Wall Mail or Magazine Bin Shelf

This little organizer tames the pile of mail by the door: a 1x2 frame holding three angled 1/4" plywood bins, mountable on a wall. It uses almost nothing — one 10-foot 1x2 and an off-the-shelf 24"x48" sheet of thin plywood or hardboard — so it's an ideal use for scraps and a genuinely quick build.

The only cut worth thinking about is the angled bin sides. The tip in the plan is the clean way to do it: rip a strip of plywood 7-1/4" wide and at least 16" long, set your saw to a 25° angle, and crosscut the bin sides off it, leaving 3/4" on the short end. That 25° is what tips the bins back so mail sits in them instead of falling out. Batch-cutting them off one strip keeps all six identical.

Assembly is forgiving. Build the 1x2 frame with pocket holes, and use the bin sides themselves as spacers to set the middle rails so you don't have to measure. Staple or nail the bin sides flush to the back, then glue the front panels on with cyanoacrylate (Krazy) glue and let it fully cure before moving the piece. Add a plywood back if you want it fully enclosed.
