This pantry is built to fit a specific kind of dead space: the narrow gap that's too small for cabinetry but wide enough to waste if left empty, next to a fridge or between two cabinet runs. The board width is a genuine choice, not a fixed spec — the same design works built from 1x4s for a 4" gap up through 1x12s for a 12" gap, and the cut list below is sized for a 6" gap using 1x6 stock; scale every board width up or down to match your own gap and lumber choice.
Cut the sides to your desired height minus the height of your caster wheels, and the shelves to your desired depth minus 2" — these two formulas are the actual plan, more than any fixed number, since every installation's gap dimensions differ. Attach the shelves to the sides with pocket holes first, then cut and attach the plywood back to fit, nailing and gluing to every back edge.
Wood dowels attached to the inside of the sides beneath each shelf keep tall or narrow items (cutting boards, trays, baking sheets) from tipping over as the unit rolls in and out. Caster wheels on the base finish the piece — this is meant to roll, not sit fixed in place, since the whole point is pulling it out into the room to access items along its depth rather than reaching blind into a gap.

Determine your gap's actual width, height, and depth. Cut the sides to your desired height minus the caster wheel height, and the shelves to your desired depth minus 2 in.
Attach the shelves to the sides using 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
Measure and cut the 1/4" plywood back to fit. Nail and glue to all back edges of the sides and shelves.
Attach a dowel to the inside of the sides beneath each shelf. Attach caster wheels to the base of the unit, and add a handle if desired.
Sand all surfaces and apply primer and paint, or stain and poly.
