One-Board Wooden Centerpiece Tray

A long, narrow centerpiece tray for a rectangular or oval dining table, built entirely from one board.

1. Cut the tray pieces
Tools: Circular Saw. Materials: Pine board, 1x12, 10 ft
Cut the single 1x12 board down into the tray's side and bottom pieces, sized to the length of your table.
2. Chamfer the edges (optional)
Tools: Router
Optionally rout a chamfered edge along the top edges of the side pieces for a more finished look.
3. Glue up the tray
Tools: Bar / Pipe Clamps. Materials: Pine board, 1x12, 10 ft, Wood glue
Glue and clamp the pieces together and let them cure for about an hour.
4. Sand and finish
Tools: Random Orbit Sander. Materials: Stain or paint
Sand the entire assembly smooth, including the bottom, then stain or paint as desired.
5. Add the handles
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: Cabinet pulls
Attach two cabinet pulls to the ends for handles.
