A round bowl centerpiece doesn't suit a long rectangular or oval table — it either looks lost in the middle or blocks sightlines across a narrow width. This tray solves that by being long and narrow on purpose, built entirely from a single board so its proportions naturally match a runner-style table rather than a round one.
Every piece — sides and bottom — comes from one board, which keeps the grain and color consistent across the whole tray instead of showing a seam between mismatched stock.
Cabinet pulls on each end turn it into something liftable and movable, rather than a fixed centerpiece you have to nudge around by its edges.

Cut the single 1x12 board down into the tray's side and bottom pieces, sized to the length of your table.
Optionally rout a chamfered edge along the top edges of the side pieces for a more finished look.
Glue and clamp the pieces together and let them cure for about an hour.
Sand the entire assembly smooth, including the bottom, then stain or paint as desired.
Attach two cabinet pulls to the ends for handles.
