Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: Pine, 1x6, 8 ft
Drill two pocket holes at the 3/4" setting on each end of every long 1x6 board. Drill additional 3/4" pocket holes along one long edge of one of these boards (or plan to nail instead), then join two of the long boards together as the outer frame.

Attach the top and bottom boards to the sides with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws and glue, flush to the bottom edge of the sides and back.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig
Attach any remaining shelf boards to complete the frame's grid layout.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: Pine, 1x6, 8 ft, Wood glue
Position the dividers evenly to form eight equal cubbies and attach with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Level. Materials: 1/4" plywood, 48" x 24", Wall-mounting screws
Nail the plywood back on — it's what keeps the whole grid from racking, so don't skip it. Sand, finish, and mount to the wall, locating studs where you can.
