Three boards and a plywood back panel is all this takes: two long 1x6 shelves ripped into a grid by three short dividers, closed in on the back for rigidity. The whole thing is small enough to knock out in an afternoon, which makes it a good project for using up 1x6 offcuts from a bigger build.
The plywood back is doing real structural work here, not just decoration — a plywood-backed grid this size resists racking far better than the open shelf-and-divider grid would on its own, so don't skip it even though it's the last thing installed. Add hooks along the bottom edge afterward for coats, bags, or leashes if you want the "entryway organizer" framing to be literal.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Drill two pocket holes at the 3/4" setting on each end of every long 1x6 board. Drill additional 3/4" pocket holes along one long edge of one of these boards (or plan to nail instead), then join two of the long boards together as the outer frame.
Attach the top and bottom boards to the sides with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws and glue, flush to the bottom edge of the sides and back.
Attach any remaining shelf boards to complete the frame's grid layout.
Position the dividers evenly to form eight equal cubbies and attach with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue.
Nail the plywood back on — it's what keeps the whole grid from racking, so don't skip it. Sand, finish, and mount to the wall, locating studs where you can.
