This is a built-in system, not a standalone piece: a 4x4 post-and-wall structure carries both a queen bed platform with drawer storage below and a full loft floor above, framed to span the room and rest on wall cleats. The exact post heights, loft-floor span, and wall-cleat length here are this build's own room — the source is explicit that the wall cleat length matched their own 94-1/2" room width, so treat every long-span dimension as a worked example to re-measure against your own space, not a number to cut blind.
Build the 4x4 wall frame first, using pocket holes hidden on the underside where they attach into the posts, then build the 2x8 bed support square before anything else — take extra care here, since an out-of-square bed frame is what causes drawers built into the cavity below to bind on their slides. The 2x8 joists were chosen specifically to leave room for drawers underneath — 2x4 or 2x6 framing would work fine if you're skipping the drawers.
Every drawer and the tilt-out shoe storage are built to fit their own openings and slides, not the plan's stated numbers, with an even 1/8" gap intended around every door and drawer face once installed. The loft floor above uses 2x6 tongue-and-groove decking, chosen because the span crosses a doorway close to 36" wide — thinner 1x material is explicitly not recommended for that gap. Store-bought black iron pipe stands in for the ladder and railing — the source flags this isn't code-approved hardware, so build and use it with that in mind rather than treating it as a certified guardrail system.

A board foot is a volume, not a length: 144 cubic inches, or a piece 1″ thick by 12″ wide by 12″ long. The “≈” note beside each row shows roughly how much 3/4″ × 6″ board that works out to.

Build the main 4x4 wall system, attaching into the posts with pocket holes hidden on the underside.
Build the 2x4 bed support, checking it's very square. Attach to the room walls and to itself with 2-3/4" self-tapping screws, and to the 4x4 posts with lag screws.
Use a level to attach the wall cleats to studs in the wall with 2-3/4" screws.
Build the bed joist frame from the 2x8s, taking care to keep everything square so drawers underneath don't bind.
Cut and attach the wall backing panel behind the storage area with nails and glue.
Lay the loft floor decking, chosen as 2x6 tongue and groove because the span crosses a doorway near 36" wide.
Build each drawer and the shoe tilt-out storage to fit its own opening and slides, boxing out the shoe storage from 1x3 scrap with a plywood back.
Attach the drawer faces and door panels, aiming for an even 1/8" gap on all sides.
Attach the bed slats, splicing joints over the joists. Hinge the plywood hidden storage door over the front opening, with a cut-out handle.
Install black iron pipe as the ladder and railing, keeping in mind this hardware is not code-approved.
Sand all surfaces, apply primer and paint or stain and poly, and add the knobs or handles.
