Each of the three uprights is a laminated sandwich — a 1x1 dowel glued between two 1x3 strips, then angle-nailed for extra hold — which the design leans on specifically for strength in a piece this thin and top-heavy. Clamp each upright while its glue sets rather than relying on the angled nails alone to hold it together; the nails are reinforcement, not the primary joint.
Line the "legs" up with the sides of the jewelry tray, not with the edges of the plywood base — the base overhangs the tray on purpose for stability, and lining the legs up with the wrong edge throws off the whole piece's proportions.

Attach a 1x1 dowel upright to one of its 1x3 laminate strips with glue and 1-1/4" brad nails. Glue and clamp the second 1x3 strip to the other side of the upright, then angle-nail from the 1x3 into the dowel for extra hold. Let each upright dry fully before moving on — build all three this way.
Attach the side rails to the uprights to form the tray, using glue and 1-1/4" nails. Attach the top dowel rail across the top of the uprights with 1-1/4" nails and wood glue.
Attach the plywood base with even overhangs on all sides, using 3/4" brad nails and wood glue.
Attach the small leg blocks with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue, lining them up with the sides of the jewelry tray above — not the edges of the plywood base, which overhangs on purpose.
Sand any rough edges and finish as desired. Hot glue works well for attaching any small decorative trim details.
