Build three legs from the leg back, base, and cap pieces.

Attach the back cleat directly to studs in the wall with 2-1/2" wood screws.

Attach the legs to the back cleat with pocket hole screws. At least one leg, preferably both outer legs, must land on a wall stud to keep the daybed from racking.

Attach the slats to the legs with 2-1/2" screws. Cover exposed ends with plywood or wood planking for a more finished look if desired.
