A basic four-post doll bed sized for 18-inch dolls, built entirely from 1x2 and 1x3 furring strips — simple enough for a kid to help assemble with hot glue or nails.

Build two end panels, joining the verticals and top/bottom rails with screws, nails, or hot glue.

Attach the bed base support side rails to the two end panels with screws, nails, or hot glue.

Have kids measure and cut a mattress platform from sturdy cardboard (or 1/4" plywood) and place inside the assembled bed frame.
