Simple 18-Inch Doll Bed

Step-by-step build — 3 steps. Also available as a print sheet.

1Build the headboard and footboard
Tools
- Drill / Driver
Materials
- 1x2, 12 ft total (furring strips)
- 1x3, 16 in
- Wood screws, 1-5/8" to 2"
- Hot glue, or brad nails, 1-1/4", and glue
Build two end panels, joining the verticals and top/bottom rails with screws, nails, or hot glue.
2Attach the side rails

- Drill / Driver
Materials
- 1x2, 12 ft total (furring strips)
- Wood screws, 1-5/8" to 2"
- Hot glue, or brad nails, 1-1/4", and glue
Attach the bed base support side rails to the two end panels with screws, nails, or hot glue.
3Add the mattress platform
Tools
- Jigsaw
Materials
- 1/4" plywood or sturdy cardboard, for mattress support
Have kids measure and cut a mattress platform from sturdy cardboard (or 1/4" plywood) and place inside the assembled bed frame.
