Attach the two side panels to the top piece, checking for square as you go.

Attach the bottom shelf to the two sides, completing the basic box.

Attach the dividers to the top and bottom shelf to break the interior into separate cubbies.

Attach the back support strips to the sides and shelf — these give the back panel something to fasten to in a later step.

Attach the front trim pieces to the front of the hutch.

Attach the back panel with finish nails and glue — choose a nail length to suit the thickness of whichever backing material you picked.

Secure the hutch to the desk with the mounting brackets, and also anchor it to the wall behind — this piece is top-heavy once loaded, and the wall anchor is what keeps it from tipping forward. Fill screw holes with wood filler, sand the whole piece, and finish as desired.
