This is a simple open box with dividers, but it carries real weight up high on top of a desk — books, bins, whatever lands on those shelves — so the desk-mounting brackets and the wall attachment aren't optional extras, they're what keeps a top-heavy hutch from tipping forward onto whoever's sitting at the desk. Do both.
The back panel is a good spot to upgrade the plan: corkboard or wainscoting paneling both work as well as plywood and turn the whole back into either a pinboard or a bit of visual texture, for about the same material cost. Fill every screw head with wood filler before you sand and finish — on an open piece like this, every surface is visible from across the room.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Attach the two side panels to the top piece, checking for square as you go.
Attach the bottom shelf to the two sides, completing the basic box.
Attach the dividers to the top and bottom shelf to break the interior into separate cubbies.
Attach the back support strips to the sides and shelf — these give the back panel something to fasten to in a later step.
Attach the front trim pieces to the front of the hutch.
Attach the back panel with finish nails and glue — choose a nail length to suit the thickness of whichever backing material you picked.
Secure the hutch to the desk with the mounting brackets, and also anchor it to the wall behind — this piece is top-heavy once loaded, and the wall anchor is what keeps it from tipping forward. Fill screw holes with wood filler, sand the whole piece, and finish as desired.
