The round top starts life as a rectangle: eight 1x4 boards of four different lengths, screwed to two underside supports with a 1/2" gap between each board, THEN traced into a circle from a pencil on a string and cut freehand with a jigsaw. Get the boards square and evenly gapped before you draw the circle — the circle-cutting step can't fix a crooked layout underneath it.
The X-shaped leg assembly is genuinely collapsible if you build it that way: swap the screws called out at the leg-support and center-attachment steps for removable bolts, and the table folds flat for winter storage. If you don't need that, screws are simpler and just as strong for a table that stays out year-round.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Starting from the center, attach the tabletop supports to the underside of the tabletop boards with 1-1/4" screws and glue, working outward and leaving a 1/2" gap between boards. Once assembled, hold a string at the center with a pencil tied to the other end and draw a circle. Cut the circle with a jigsaw and sand the edges smooth.
Lay the leg supports on the underside of the table and attach with 2" screws and glue. Round the corners for a softer look.
Round the corners of the spacers and attach them to the leg supports with 1-1/4" fasteners and glue.
Attach the legs to the tabletop through the leg supports and spacers. For a collapsible table, use a removable bolt at this joint instead of a screw.
Attach the crossing legs to each other at the center with a screw. For a collapsible table, use a removable bolt here as well.
Attach the base support stretchers between the legs near the bottom for added stability.
