Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig, Speed Square. Materials: 3/4" plywood or MDF, 4x8 sheet, Pocket-hole screws, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Fasten the two shelves to the sides, then the top to the sides, with pocket screws (or screws and glue). Keep it square — this module has to line up with the others under a shared top.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1/4" plywood or MDF, back piece, Finish nails, 1-1/4" and 2", Wood glue
Glue-and-nail the 1/4" back on with 1-1/4" nails. It squares the box and keeps it rigid.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1x2 board, 8 ft, 1x3 board, 8 ft, Finish nails, 1-1/4" and 2", Wood glue
Fasten the top and bottom inside front trim, nailing through the sides and shelves into the edges of the trim with 2" nails. This frames the opening.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1x2 board, 8 ft, 1x3 board, 8 ft, Finish nails, 1-1/4" and 2", Wood glue
Line the side trim up with the front edge of the shelves and top and fasten with 1-1/4" nails and glue — fasten the top side trim into both the top and the sides, which reinforces the corner joints. Then measure, cut, and attach the front trim with brads and glue.
Tools: Iron for Edge Banding, Random Orbit Sander. Materials: Edge banding
If you built in plywood, iron edge banding onto the exposed front edges and trim it flush. Sand everything smooth and finish to match the rest of your office modules.
