This stand is built from two 2x4 frames — a tall back frame that carries the signboard and a shorter front frame at counter height — paneled in cedar fence pickets on the sides, front, top, and sign. Build both frames first, then attach the side pickets to each frame as mirror images of each other, which is what keeps the two sides matching once the stand is assembled.
Assembly happens on a flat, level surface on purpose: the front panel goes on while checking that the whole base still sits flat, since a stand that racks even slightly while the front is being attached will rock on every uneven driveway or lawn it's set up on afterward. The center picket goes on with even gaps to either side before the front panel — get that centered first, since it's the visual focal point of the whole front face.
The inside shelf is deliberately measured and cut on-site rather than to a fixed number, since it needs to fit the actual assembled frame. An optional drink-dispenser riser is left unattached by design, so it can be added, removed, or repositioned as needed for whatever's being served that day.

Build the back frame (tall legs) and front frame (short legs) with the inner supports, using the longer 2-1/2" screws.
Attach the side cedar picket panels to the frames, as mirror images of each other, with the shorter screws.
Place the center front panel piece in the center of the front opening, with even gaps on either side.
On a flat, level surface, add the remaining front panel pieces, checking that the base still sits flat as you go. Attach with the shorter screws.
Add the top panel and the sign board panel.
Measure and cut the inside shelf pieces to fit the actual assembled frame, and attach with the shorter screws. An optional drink-dispenser riser can be added later, left unattached so it can be repositioned as needed. Sand and finish.
