This is the smallest piece in the Homestead Collection, alongside the Homestead Bench and Homestead Console Table already in this catalog — same 10° splayed-leg language, scaled down to end-table size, and built solidly enough that it doubles as a step stool or extra seating in a pinch.
The top cleats and legs share the same 10° angle as the rest of the collection, so a test cut and dry-fit before committing to the full set is worth the five minutes it takes — a 2x4 is cheap, a redone leg set after the top is already attached is not.
Pocket holes keep every fastener hidden inside the joint; if you don't have a pocket-hole jig, self-tapping structural screws driven from the outside work as a fallback, just less invisibly.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Cut the tabletop, leg, and shelf pieces per the cut list, paying close attention to which angled pieces need parallel ends and which don't. Dry-fit one leg assembly before cutting the rest.
Lay out the tabletop boards and center the angled cleats across the underside, leaving a consistent 1in overhang at each end. Attach with screws and glue.
Build two leg assemblies from the angled leg pieces, joining them with pocket holes to keep the fasteners hidden.
Attach the leg assemblies to the underside of the tabletop cleats.
Clamp the bottom shelf boards in place between the legs and fasten from underneath with screws and glue.
Sand every surface, then finish with stain to match the rest of the Homestead Collection.
