A miniature farmhouse-style bed sized for an 18" doll, built the same way as its full-size counterparts — slatted panel headboard and footboard, siderails, and a plywood platform.

Rest the headboard panel boards on a scrap of thin plywood so you can line up the bottom board on center. Mark and predrill with a countersink bit.

Screw the bottom panel board to the headboard panel with 1-1/4" screws and glue.

Attach the headboard legs to the panel with 2" screws and glue, screwing carefully into both the panel boards and the bottom board.

Attach the top panel board with the shorter screws or nails and glue.

Screw the top of the headboard piece to the headboard, centering it, with two screws and glue.

Build the footboard the same way as the headboard, using the footboard panel boards and footboard legs.

Screw the siderails to the bed frame pieces. Add a third center support if the doll bed will see rough play, or if using a flimsier platform material.

Predrill and screw the frame assembly to the headboard and footboard. Lay the plywood platform on top. Sand and paint or finish as desired.
