Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig, Table Saw. Materials: 3/4" plywood, ripped 15-3/4" strips, 8 ft (2 sheets), Pine, 1x3, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws
This plan is designed around a specific mirror and drawer faces built from 1x10s measuring 9-1/4" wide — take time to fully understand the plan before beginning, and drill all pocket holes on flat stock before starting assembly. Drill 3/4" pocket holes along the side edges of the side plywood panels, then attach the 1x2 side trim to the tops and bottoms.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: Pine, 2x2, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws
Attach the legs to the sides with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws through the predrilled holes, keeping the inside edges flush. Drill 3/4" pocket holes along the top edges, pointing upward on the inside, for attaching the top later.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: Pine, 2x2, 8 ft
Join the two side assemblies together with the top supports.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" plywood, ripped 15-3/4" strips, 8 ft (2 sheets)
Add the bottom shelf, drilling 3/4" pocket holes along its front and back edges for attaching trim in a later step.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig.
Trim out the bottom shelf with the bottom drawer trim.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: Pine, 2x2, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws
Add the center divider trim to the front and back, keeping it flush to the inside of the larger drawer compartment — this alignment matters. Attach through the predrilled pocket holes with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: Pine, 1x2, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws
Add the smaller drawer trim, designed for drawer faces measuring 9-1/4" wide with a 1/8" gap on all sides.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" plywood, ripped 15-3/4" strips, 8 ft (2 sheets)
For the top compartment, add a shelf between the trim by drilling 3/4" pocket holes on all sides of the shelf and attaching it in place.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" plywood, ripped 15-3/4" strips, 8 ft (2 sheets), Pine, 1x3, 8 ft, Pine, 1x2, 8 ft, 1-1/4" brad nails
Build the top panel first, trimming out the sides with the 1x2 and 1x3, then attach the assembled top to the case.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 1/4" plywood or hardboard, 2 sheets, Pine, 1x8, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws, 16" Euro-style bottom corner mount drawer slides, pair
Build each drawer box to fit its opening, sized about 1" narrower than the opening to account for the drawer slides — placing pocket holes to the outsides keeps them hidden once the drawer face is on. Install the drawer boxes into the cabinet using the drawer slides, insetting them 3/4" from the front face to leave room for the drawer faces.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 1/4" plywood or hardboard, 2 sheets, Pine, 1x3, 8 ft, 1-1/4" pocket hole screws, Narrow profile hinges, pair
Construct the door frame from the 1x3 stiles and rails around the mirror backer panel, and install with the narrow profile hinges.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver. Materials: Pine, 1x10, 10 ft, 1-1/4" brad nails, Knobs or handles, Mirror, 49-1/4" x 14"
Position the drawer face panels over the drawer boxes and attach with an even 1/8" gap on all sides, using 1-1/4" finish nails and glue. Add knobs and handles to the door and drawer faces to finish.
