Wooden Plate Rack

Attach the 1x4 sides and shelves to create the box. Nails are fine here since the finished rack gets anchored to the wall for extra structure — just always add glue when you nail. Keep it square.

Glue and nail the rails and back supports to the framing to complete the rack, spacing the rails so your plates rest on edge without tipping out. Hang it on the wall into studs through the back 1x2s under the shelves with 3" screws — that cleat is the load path, so it must catch framing. Level it, sand, and finish.
