The back legs carry the whole stacking idea: cut from a single 2x4 so they're a consistent 1-1/2" wide everywhere, one leg uses up the entire board width-wise, which is why building several chairs at once makes it worth ripping legs from a 2x6 instead — more legs per board, fewer cuts. Whatever stock you cut them from, that constant 1-1/2" width along the whole leg is what lets identical chairs nest against each other when stacked.
Building the seat frame back-apron-first and working forward keeps every later measurement referenced off a board that's already fixed in place, rather than trying to hold multiple loose aprons square at once. A level across the side apron during final assembly is what confirms the front and back sections actually line up before any seat boards go on.

Mark out the chair back legs on the 2x4, keeping a consistent 1-1/2" width along the whole leg — one leg uses the entire board. If building multiple chairs, consider ripping legs from a 2x6 instead to get more legs per board and fewer cuts.
Build the chair back from the legs and back supports, fastening with 2" screws and glue.
Build the aprons and front legs, starting with the back apron and working forward. A pocket hole jig makes this quick, or use 2" screws and glue throughout.
Using a level on the side apron, attach the front seat assembly to the chair back with 2" screws and glue. It can help to add the seat boards first, since seeing them in place makes the final assembly easier to picture.
Fasten the seat boards to the aprons, then fasten the back boards to the back supports the same way.
Fill any holes with wood filler, sand every surface, and finish with an exterior-rated paint.
