Draw a handle pattern on the side aprons — the handle can be up to 6" long, since it overhangs the back leg by that amount. Clamp both side aprons together and sand until they match perfectly. Optionally, taper the back leg with a jigsaw for a lighter look.
Attach the legs to the side aprons with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws (jig set for 3/4" stock) and glue, keeping the handle overhang consistent and adjusting for square. Build two identical sides, keeping the pocket holes on the inside faces to conceal them.

Once both sides are complete, attach the end aprons between them with glue, adjusting for square as you go.

Adding a side apron support gives extra rigidity and a rail that a smaller tray or drop-in ice bucket could rest on later. This step is optional but recommended.

Pocket holes are overkill here — use 2" finish nails and wood glue instead, two nails per slat, with slats spaced 3/4" apart. Remember the top tray is built 1/4" narrower than the bottom one, so it lifts free without scratching the finish as it comes off.

The top tray simply rests in place on the frame. For the bottom tray, measure up 6" from the base and screw it in place with 1-1/4" screws and glue from the insides, two per leg.

Drill a center hole in each wood round with a 1/2" bit. Mark and drill matching holes in the legs. Test-fit the wheels with the bolts, and once you're satisfied with the fit and rolling clearance, remove them and trim the legs to final length if needed.
For the permanent installation, use three washers per wheel: one on the bolt side, one on the nut side, and one between the wheel and the leg to protect the finish. Bolt heads face out, nuts on the inside.
