Step-by-step build — 4 steps. Also available as a print sheet.
Nail the back board to the bottom board with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue, nailing about every 4" for a joint that will carry real produce weight.
Cut the sides at 30° angles with a miter saw, circular saw, or jigsaw. Attach to the shelf bottom and back with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue.
Nail the front piece to the sides with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue, leaving a deliberate gap between the front and bottom for airflow.
Locate real studs in the wall and hang the shelf to them with 2-1/2" self-tapping screws — a loaded produce shelf needs a real stud, not just drywall anchors.
