Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver. Materials: Plywood, 1/2", ripped into 7-3/4" strips, Pine, 1x4, various lengths, Paint
Rooms are the simplest module — glue and nail or screw the plywood walls to the 1x frame pieces. Paint the 1x pieces before assembly wherever you can; it's much easier to get clean coverage on flat stock than inside an assembled room.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver, Drill Bit Set. Materials: Plywood, 1/2", ripped into 7-3/4" strips, Moulding, 3/4" x 3/4", Wood dowels, 1/4", Wood glue
Drill the dowel holes for the railing spindles 1/4" deep and glue them in place. Glue and nail the railing frame together, then attach it to the deck's plywood floor with 1-1/4" brad nails.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Miter Saw. Materials: Moulding, 3/4" x 3/4", Pine, 1x2, various lengths, Wood glue
Nail and glue the roof frame pieces together, mitering the gable corners at 45°. Before the glue sets, set the roof assembly next to an actual room module to confirm it's square against the room's real footprint — a roof that's square only in isolation can still rock or gap once stacked.
Stack your room, deck, and roof modules in any combination — the whole system is designed to mix and match. Add furnishings and details as separate small builds once the core modules are done.
