This is a genuinely small bookshelf — under 30" tall — built as a plain 1x12 box first, then dressed with applied 1x2 legs at all four corners rather than a full face frame. Mark the shelf joint locations on both the inside and outside of the side panels before fastening anything, since the boards are 3/4" thick and it's easy to fasten a shelf a half-inch off from where the outside marks say it should land if you're only checking one face.
Support cleats under the bottom shelf carry real weight — attached to both the sides and the underside of the bottom shelf, they're what keeps a small shelf like this from sagging at the corners under books. The four legs attach next, sitting flush with both the top edge of the sides and the outside edge of the sides — a small but specific alignment worth checking with a square before the glue sets.
Shelf trim covers the front edges of each shelf, fastened first to the shelf itself, then anchored again through the legs into the trim's ends for a genuinely rigid joint. The top is built in two pieces, front and back, with the gap between them minimized rather than built as one solid board — worth dry-fitting before final attachment to make sure that seam stays tight.

Mark the shelf joint locations on both the inside and outside of the side panels. Fasten the shelves to the sides with glue and 2" screws, placing the middle shelf at any height you prefer.
Fasten the support cleats to both the sides and the underside of the bottom shelf.
Using 2" nails and glue, fasten the legs to the sides and shelves, keeping them flush with the top edge and outside edge of the sides.
Fasten the shelf trim to the faces of the shelf edges with 1-1/4" nails and glue, then fasten through the sides of the legs into the ends of the shelf trim with 2" nails and glue, keeping top edges flush.
Attach the front top piece, minimizing the gap between the front and back top pieces.
Glue and nail the back panel on. Fill any nail holes with wood filler, sand, and apply primer and paint, or stain and poly.
