Tools: Drill / Driver, Jigsaw, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" hardwood plywood, full sheets, 1x3, 8 ft, furring strips for bay supports, Pocket hole screws, 1-1/4"
Cut 4"x4" toekicks into the front edges with a jigsaw. Attach the shelf to the sides with 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws, flush to the toekick cutout. Cut and attach three bay supports, running the top supports vertically for sink clearance.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Jigsaw, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" hardwood plywood, full sheets, 1x3, 8 ft, furring strips for bay supports, Pocket hole screws, 1-1/4"
Repeat the sink base steps for the trash cabinet panel and shelf, strengthening with bay supports.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Jigsaw, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" hardwood plywood, full sheets, 1x3, 8 ft, furring strips for bay supports, Pocket hole screws, 1-1/4"
Confirm your dishwasher's actual clearance requirement (24" is standard, some need more). Build the panel and add bay supports, skipping the top-front support if your clearance requires it and adding a bottom-back support instead.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Circular Saw, Drill / Driver. Materials: 1/2" hardwood plywood, full sheet, Brad nails, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Cut the 1/2" plywood back with a circular saw and attach with glue and 1-1/4" brad nails, adding pocket hole screws at the joints for extra strength.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Pocket Hole Jig. Materials: 3/4" hardwood plywood, full sheets, Pocket hole screws, 1-1/4"
Build the open shelf carcass with 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws, attaching through the bay supports to the back plywood. Add bay supports at the bottom as well.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1x2, 8 ft, 1x6, 8 ft, 1x3, 10 ft, Brad nails, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Measure, cut, and nail on the top and bottom trim, then the vertical stile trim on the front edges of the plywood. Repeat for the sides using the wider 1x3 stiles at the outer corners.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1x2, 8 ft, 1x4, 8 ft, for drawer and baseboard, Brad nails, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Cut and nail a 1x2 to trim the front edge of the dishwasher panel. Trim the entire base with 1x4 baseboard, measured and cut to fit.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Drill / Driver. Materials: 1/2" hardwood plywood, full sheet, 1x4, 8 ft, for drawer and baseboard, Full extension drawer slides, 20 in, Pocket hole screws, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Build the drawer from 1x4 boards. Install the drawer sides onto the drawer slides inside the cavity, measure the gap between them, cut the front/back to fit, and attach with pocket hole screws. Cut and attach the 1/2" plywood bottom with glue and nails, positioning the drawer at a height the face will cover.
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: 3/4" hardwood plywood, full sheets, 1x6, 8 ft, Concealed hinges, frameless half overlay
Attach the drawer face to the drawer box. Install the doors with frameless half-overlay concealed hinges.
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: Corbels, 9 in x 12 in, Countertop, sourced and fabricated separately (not included in this build's cost)
Have the countertop fabricated and installed separately by a fabricator (this plan builds only the cabinet base). Once installed, attach the corbels from the back side with 2" screws.
Tools: Random Orbit Sander. Materials: Primer and paint, or stain and poly
Sand all surfaces and apply primer and paint, or stain and poly.
