Measure your space and cut the main beam to your desired rack length. Lay the beam on a flat surface and place your actual tools over it — tools without a D-ring handle go upside down at the top, tools with a D-ring handle hang below. Mark the position of each hanger block based on where your tools land.
Attach the upper row of hanger blocks to the top edge of the beam with screws, two per joint, leaving a 2" gap between blocks for sliding tools in.
Add the bottom row of hanger blocks.
Locate two studs in the wall and hang the rack, high enough that your longest tool doesn't touch the ground. Use at least two screws per stud, four screws minimum.
