Build two leg sets with the leg bottom and top supports, using 2-1/2" screws.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Miter Saw, Pencil. Materials: 2x2, 8 ft, Self-tapping screws, 2-1/2", star bit
Scribe the X bracing detail directly onto the ends of the assembled leg sets and cut with a miter saw or circular saw. Angles will vary with your wood thickness and build accuracy — treat 36° and 16° as reference, not exact. Attach with 2-1/2" screws.

Attach the two leg sets together with the 2x2 aprons and center support, using 2-1/2" screws.
Tools: Brad Nailer. Materials: 1x8, 8 ft, Brad nails, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Attach the bottom shelf back board to the back legs with glue and brad nails. Attach the bottom shelf boards to the leg bases and to the back board with brad nails and wood glue.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Random Orbit Sander. Materials: 1x12, 8 ft, Brad nails, 1-1/4", Wood glue
Attach the 1x12 top boards with even overhangs on the ends, flush to the back, using brad nails and glue. Sand and finish.
