This plan assumes the open-base cabinet from the Basic Collection is already built, per its own plan. Don't start here first.
Tools: Circular Saw, Random Orbit Sander. Materials: 1/4" plywood
Cut the plywood door backer to size and sand the edges carefully. Edge banding, applied and trimmed now, gives a much cleaner look than leaving the plywood edges bare.
Tools: Bar / Pipe Clamps. Materials: Pine hobby stock, 1/2" thick x 5-1/2" wide, 4 ft, Pine hobby stock, 1/2" thick x 7-1/2" wide, 16 in, 5/8" nails or staples, Wood glue
Glue and clamp the decorative front boards to the plywood backer. A few 5/8" nails or staples from the back add extra security to the glue joint while it cures.
Materials: Door knobs or pulls, Hinges, set
Attach the knobs or pulls to the doors — this fastener is also part of what holds the false front to the plywood, so don't skip it. Attach the finished doors to the base cabinet with hinges.
