This is a small plywood cube divided by a center partition into two cubby columns, one of which gets a shelf partway up for smaller items, set on casters so a heavy desktop tower can be rolled out from under a desk instead of dragged. Building it small and square is what lets it double as an occasional end table if you ever repurpose it — the same reason to keep every joint tight even though most of this cube will be hidden under a desk.
Keep caster screws under 3/4" long. A screw that pokes through the bottom panel is a sharp point sitting on the floor, right where the cart rolls.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Screw two of the 19-1/2"-long 1x8 boards together — either 2" countersunk screws with glue, or pocket-hole screws.
Mark the inside faces of the boards from step 1, measuring down 6" from the top and up 6" from the bottom. Position the shelves at those marks and screw in place.
Attach the center partition to the cubby assembly.
Add one of the plywood panels to the back of the assembly.
Attach the top and bottom panels to the shelves, keeping them flush to the shelf sides.
Attach the last remaining side panel with glue and 2" screws or 1-1/4" pocket-hole screws.
Attach the four caster wheels to the bottom, using screws under 3/4" long so the tips don't poke through and out the inside bottom. Fill all holes with wood filler, let dry, sand, and finish as desired.
