A 4x4-leg table sized to counter-stool height — a plywood top framed in 1x2, built the same order every farmhouse plywood-top table uses: legs, then apron, then top, then trim.

Drill two 1-1/2" pocket holes on each end of the 25" end aprons and attach to the 4x4 legs, inset 1" from the legs' outside face. Set the apron's height for a 6" clearance underneath — enough to run a foot or a floor mop under, not so much the table reads leggy. Build two identical assemblies.

Drill two 1-1/2" pocket holes on each end of the 41" side aprons and attach at the top of the leg sets, keeping the same 1" inset. Attach the center stretcher the same way, or with 3" self-tapping screws if you'd rather not pocket-hole a piece that lands mid-span — center it between the two end assemblies.

Apply glue to the top edge of the leg-and-apron assembly and nail the plywood tabletop panel down with 2" finish nails.

Apply glue to the long edges of the plywood top and the top 3/4" of the 4x4 leg faces. Nail the 48" 1x2 trim pieces on, flush to both the plywood and the leg tops — this is what hides the plywood's edge grain along the table's length.
Tools: Brad Nailer, Random Orbit Sander, Tape Measure.
Measure and cut the remaining 1x2 trim pieces to fit the actual ends of the table — treat the cut list length as an estimate, not a fixed cut. Attach with 1-1/4" brad nails and glue.
Sand the whole table and finish to match your counter stools.
