A wall-hung organizer that packs a lot into one panel: open shelves, small cubbies, a row of hooks, and a chalkboard for notes. Built from 1x6 boards with a chalkboard panel you can buy or make yourself from hardboard and chalkboard paint.
The hardest step is the shaped sides. Both side pieces get a decorative profile cut with a jigsaw, and they have to match — so make one pattern, transfer it to both, cut just outside the line, and sand the pair together until they're identical. A mismatch here is the flaw the eye finds first on a symmetric piece.
Everything else is friendly. The box goes together with 1-1/4" pocket screws or 2" finish nails and glue from the outside faces; the middle shelf sits 10-3/4" up from the bottom, and the cubby dividers both divide the cubbies and help you place that middle shelf. Finish the wood frame before adding the chalkboard, and hang it from studs or a rated picture-hanging kit — loaded with keys and mail it has some weight.

Attach the two sides to the bottom with 1-1/4" pocket screws, or 2" finish nails and glue driven from the outside faces.
Add the shelves with the same joinery. The middle shelf sits 10-3/4" up from the bottom of the sides — dry-fit the cubby dividers to help you place it accurately.
Add the cubby dividers with 2" finish nails and glue from the top and bottom. Finish the wood frame before adding the chalkboard. Mount the hooks, set the chalkboard, and hang the shelf from wall studs or a rated picture-hanging kit.
