Step-by-step build — 12 steps. Also available as a print sheet.
This plan is designed around a specific mirror and drawer faces built from 1x10s measuring 9-1/4" wide — take time to fully understand the plan before beginning, and drill all pocket holes on flat stock before starting assembly. Drill 3/4" pocket holes along the side edges of the side plywood panels, then attach the 1x2 side trim to the tops and bottoms.
Attach the legs to the sides with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws through the predrilled holes, keeping the inside edges flush. Drill 3/4" pocket holes along the top edges, pointing upward on the inside, for attaching the top later.
Join the two side assemblies together with the top supports.
Add the bottom shelf, drilling 3/4" pocket holes along its front and back edges for attaching trim in a later step.
Trim out the bottom shelf with the bottom drawer trim.
Add the center divider trim to the front and back, keeping it flush to the inside of the larger drawer compartment — this alignment matters. Attach through the predrilled pocket holes with 1-1/4" pocket hole screws.
Add the smaller drawer trim, designed for drawer faces measuring 9-1/4" wide with a 1/8" gap on all sides.
For the top compartment, add a shelf between the trim by drilling 3/4" pocket holes on all sides of the shelf and attaching it in place.
Build the top panel first, trimming out the sides with the 1x2 and 1x3, then attach the assembled top to the case.
Build each drawer box to fit its opening, sized about 1" narrower than the opening to account for the drawer slides — placing pocket holes to the outsides keeps them hidden once the drawer face is on. Install the drawer boxes into the cabinet using the drawer slides, insetting them 3/4" from the front face to leave room for the drawer faces.
Construct the door frame from the 1x3 stiles and rails around the mirror backer panel, and install with the narrow profile hinges.
Position the drawer face panels over the drawer boxes and attach with an even 1/8" gap on all sides, using 1-1/4" finish nails and glue. Add knobs and handles to the door and drawer faces to finish.
