Angled Adirondack Footstool

Step-by-step build — 4 steps. Also available as a print sheet.

1Trim the stringers
Tools
- Miter Saw
Materials
- 2x4, 8 ft or stud length
Trim the bottom ends of the stringers to their 30° angle.
2Add the decking
Tools
- Drill / Driver
Materials
- 1x4, 12 ft
- Exterior self-tapping wood screws, 2" and 2-1/2"
Attach the top boards across the stringers with nails or screws, evenly spaced.
3Add the legs and flip
Tools
- Drill / Driver
Materials
- 2x4, 8 ft or stud length
- Exterior self-tapping wood screws, 2" and 2-1/2"
Attach the angled legs and flip the stool over.
4Finish
Materials
- Exterior penetrating wood stain or paint
Apply exterior stain or paint.
