Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: Pine, 1x4, 12 in, Wood glue
Attach the 1x4 wing supports flush to the back of the fuselage board, set in 3" from the outsides. Predrill and use glue.
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: Pine, 1x6, 6 ft, Wood glue
Attach the second fuselage board centered on the shelves, inset 3/4" from the shelf fronts. Predrill, glue, and use 2" screws.
Tools: Hole Saw Kit. Materials: Pine, 1x6, 6 ft
Cut the round face out with a 4" hole saw and position it on the nose of the plane — the hole saw will have already bored a small center hole for the propeller screw.
Tools: Drill / Driver
Attach the propeller to the face and screw it down through its center, through the face, and into the fuselage front — snug enough to hold, loose enough that it still spins freely.
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: Pine, 1x2, 20 in, Wood glue
Build the landing gear by joining the 1x2 pieces with brad nails and wood glue.
Tools: Drill / Driver, Hole Saw Kit. Materials: Pine, 1x6, 6 ft
Cut the wheels with a 2" hole saw and attach to the wheel base. Craft-store round wood circles work as a substitute if you don't have a hole saw kit.
Tools: Drill / Driver. Materials: 1-1/4" brad nails or self-tapping wood screws, Wood glue
Attach the landing gear to the bottom of the plane, inset 2" from the front, with 1-1/4" screws and glue.
Materials: Wood filler and finish, Picture hanging cleat
Fill any visible holes with wood filler and finish as desired. Attach a picture hanging cleat in two places on the back and hang with drywall anchors.
