This cradle is a simpler build than this catalog's doll crib: instead of a rail-slat box with a drawer, it's a plain angled box — two curved-top end panels, a bottom shelf resting on cleats, and side boards that lean outward following the ends' angle, giving the cradle a gentle bassinet-like flare rather than a straight-walled crib shape.
Draw the end panel pattern out before cutting, rounding the corners so there are no sharp edges on a piece meant for a toy. Mark the cleat location and the board's center while it's still square and easy to measure — trying to find center on an already-cut curved panel is needlessly hard. Cut carefully with a jigsaw and sand every rough edge before assembly.
The cleats carry the bottom shelf's weight, so get them square and level before the shelf goes on. The side boards attach last and simply follow the angle already set by the ends — there's no compound cut here, just letting the two end panels' angle carry through to the sides.

Draw the curved-top pattern onto the 1x12 end panels, rounding corners to avoid sharp edges on a toy. While the boards are still square, mark the cleat location from the next step and mark the board's center for lining up the bottom shelf later. Cut carefully with a jigsaw and sand all rough edges.
Attach the cleats to the inside of the end panels with 1-1/4" brad nails and wood glue, using your earlier marks to place them.
Attach the bottom shelf on top of the cleats with 2" countersunk screws and glue, or 3/4" pocket holes and 1-1/4" pocket hole screws if you have a jig, using your earlier center mark to line it up.
Attach the two side boards to the ends, letting them follow the angle already set by the end panels. Use 2" screws and glue. Sand thoroughly and finish with a kid-safe paint or clear coat.
