Designed around stud-length lumber specifically so a venue or planner building several of these at once can buy studs (already cut to a common length) instead of full boards, minimizing both waste and cutting time per bench. That's the whole reason for the design: fast, repeatable, and cheap enough that building ten of them for a wedding doesn't feel like ten separate furniture projects.
Angling a few of the leg screws rather than driving them all straight in is a small trick worth remembering — it resists the leg racking sideways under load in a way that a straight-in screw alone doesn't, since the angled screw is working somewhat in tension against that specific direction of movement. The tie-in board between the legs at the bottom is what actually keeps a bench like this from wobbling once people are sitting and standing on it all day; don't treat it as optional even though the bench will stand without it.

Screw the 2x4 top boards to the 2x6 support boards, spacing screws every 8"–12" along the length.
Screw the end boards to both ends of the 2x4-and-2x6 assembly.
Screw the legs to the inside of the outer frame. Angle a few screws in on each leg rather than driving them all straight — this resists the leg racking sideways under load.
Add a tie-in board between the two legs near the bottom, leaving about a 3" gap below it. This is what keeps the bench from wobbling once it's loaded with people sitting and standing — don't skip it.
