The legs are the one tricky part: each is cut with a genuine double bevel — 5° off square and a 5° bevel at the same time — so mark the inside corner of every leg the moment it's cut, since it's remarkably easy to lose track of which way a leg faces once you've cut all four with such a subtle angle. You can build this without the double bevel, but the plan is direct that the beveled version is sturdier and holds up better, especially under kids treating it as a pretend surfboard.
Predrill and attach the aprons with glue and 2-1/2" screws, adding corner bracing if the assembled frame has any wobble. Once the tabletop boards are nailed down, round the corners and cut the surfboard's characteristic shape with a jigsaw, then sand the edges smooth.
The surfboard graphic on top is an actual pattern, not a suggestion — the source provides a printable graph you transfer square by square onto the tabletop, then paint in a contrasting color, so the finished look is closer to a real board than a generic plank table.
