Simple Outdoor Dining Bench

This is the simplest bench in the catalog on purpose — a 2x4 frame, four 2x4 legs, and twelve 1x4 slats laid across the top with even gaps. It's sized and priced to sit alongside a simple outdoor dining table without becoming a bigger project than the table itself.

Build the frame first and check it for square before the legs go on, by measuring both diagonals and adjusting until they match — a frame that's slightly off-square at this stage stays off-square for the life of the bench. Attach the legs to the square frame, then lay the slats on top with a consistent 1/2" gap between them, which is enough for water to drain through without looking sparse.

The shopping list here is written per single bench — for a table that seats more people, just build as many benches as you need from the same cut list.
