A Moses basket is lovely but it just sits on the floor; this stand lifts it to a useful height and lets it rock. The build is small — a pair of rockers, four legs, and a couple of cross members sized to grip your specific basket — but one step carries all the difficulty, and that's cutting the rockers.
Draw the rocker curve with a thin strip of 1/8" plywood bent to a fair arc; only the bottom edge needs to be curved, so you can leave the top square to simplify. Cut both rockers slightly proud of the line, then clamp them together and sand the bottoms until they match exactly. Two rockers with even slightly different curves will rock unevenly or wobble, and a cradle that rocks crooked is unsettling to watch and worse to use.
The two center boards are cut to your basket's width so it seats firmly. This is the safety-critical detail: the basket must be secured to the stand, not just resting in it — screw it down or tie it firmly. Sand everything to a nursery-grade smoothness, coarse grit through fine, and use a non-toxic finish since this holds a newborn.

Draw the rocker pattern on the 1x4s using a bent 1/8" plywood strip for a fair curve — only the bottom needs shaping, so keep the top square to make life easy. Cut both just outside the line, then clamp them together and sand the bottom edges until they're identical. Mismatched rockers rock crooked; this is the step that makes or breaks the stand.
Attach two legs to a 1x2 top support to fix their spacing, using the 3/4" Kreg setting and 1-1/4" screws. Scribe the rocker arc onto the bottom of each leg, cut it with the jigsaw so the leg meets the rocker cleanly, then fasten the legs to the rockers.
Measure the bottom width of your Moses basket and cut the two 1x3 and two 1x2 cradle boards so they hold it firmly. This is where the fit is dialed in — snug, not loose.
Run the 1x6 (or two 1x4s) down the center underneath to carry the baby's weight, attached from below with pocket holes. Then — the non-negotiable part — fasten the basket to the stand by screwing through the base or tying it firmly. A basket that can shift or lift out is a hazard.
Sand every surface and edge through the grits to a smooth, splinter-free finish — this is nursery furniture. Finish with a non-toxic product or leave it raw. Give it one more rock test on a flat floor to confirm it's even and stable before it goes into service.
