Step-by-step build — 12 steps. Also available as a print sheet.
Rip the plywood sheet into 15-3/4"-wide strips for the sides, dividers, shelves, and corner posts.
Build the front and back 2x2 face frames with pocket holes. Leave the middle drawer dividers off the back frame.
Build the doors flat against the front frame to keep the boards square, using the wide and narrow door/drawer face boards and cross pieces. Test-fit the drawer face boards at this step too.
Connect the front and back frames with the corner posts, using glue and screws, checking for square.
Attach the sides, checking everything for square.
Add the dividers, keeping them flush to the inside of each compartment.
Attach the drawer slide supports to the two outer compartments only.
Build three drawers to suit the actual finished openings and your drawer slides.
Install the drawers inset 3/4" on the front to allow for the faces. Install the doors with the inset hinges.
Attach the drawer faces to the front, keeping an even 1/8" gap on all sides.
Add the top. Add shelves, fixed or on shelf pins, and the optional back panel with nails and glue.
Sand all surfaces, apply primer and paint or stain and poly, and add the cup handles.
