The Modern Comfort collection's loveseat: two seats wide, built with the same joinery grammar as its sofa sibling, so a matched patio set comes off one jig setting. Everything structural is 1-1/2" pocket holes with 2-1/2" exterior pocket screws, and everything visible hides its fasteners — the plan repeats 'pocket holes on the insides, or facing downward' like a chorus, because that IS the collection's finish standard.
The build's best sequencing decision: the BACK IS A PANEL, built flat. Six 2x4 back slats attach to the 2x2 top rail and the 2x6 back base — evenly spaced, working from the outsides in, with 2" overhangs at the base's ends — and then the finished panel drops into the seat frame and screws to the sides and back. Spacing slats on a flat panel on sawhorses is pleasant; spacing them one at a time inside an assembled frame is the other thing. The panel also sets the recline geometry in one move.
Arm assemblies build upside down (the plan's diagrams say so three times — it registers the legs against the flat armrest), with 2x6 aprons carrying the seat loads. The seat itself is eight 1x4 slats on 2x2 cleats, one screw per joint — drainage gaps included, as always outdoors.
Sized for standard loveseat cushions; check yours against the 50-1/2" interior before cutting, and adjust the base and slat lengths if your cushions vote differently. Finish to match the rest of the collection — penetrating exterior stain, all faces.

Drill two 1-1/2" pocket holes in the top of each leg and attach pairs to the armrests from underneath with 2-1/2" pocket screws, working with the arm flat on the bench and the legs in the air. The flat armrest is the registration surface; use it.
Add the 2x4 side supports between the legs (pocket holes each end), then the 2x6 end aprons — flush to the outside, pocket holes hidden on the insides, plus holes along one edge for attaching the seat structure. Still upside down, still registering off the arm.
Connect the two arm assemblies with the 2x6 base and 2x4 back rail — pocket holes each end, all holes inside or facing down, per the collection's chorus. You now have the seat box.
On sawhorses: attach the six back slats to the 2x2 top rail, spaced evenly, outsides first and work inward, 2-1/2" screws. Attach the slats to the 2x6 back base with 2" overhangs at each base end, keeping every slat parallel.
Building the back flat is why this loveseat's slat spacing looks machine-even — you can see and fix everything before it's committed.
Set the finished back panel inside the seat frame at its recline and screw to the sides and back rail with 2-1/2" screws. Add the 2x2 seat cleats inside the frame, then lay the eight 1x4 seat slats and fasten with one 1-1/2" screw per joint — gaps between for drainage, as ever.
Sand, stain to match the collection, cushions on. The sofa, the armless piece, and this — the patio set is becoming a fleet.
