These are the companion stools for a patio bar table: a slatted seat with breadboard ends on four straight legs, all from 1x2 and 1x3 stock. They're deliberately plain and repeatable, so you can build a matching set in an afternoon, and everything is glue plus screws — no angles, no joinery to fuss over.
Build the seat frame first and make sure it's square, because the breadboard ends and slats all reference off it. A handy trick from the plan: when you attach the breadboard ends, set a seat slat in between them as a spacer to get the gap right without measuring. The seat slats space evenly so rain drains through — important for anything living outside.
Since these are outdoor pieces, use exterior-rated screws and glue and finish them properly — at minimum a base coat, touching up screw holes with paintable silicone or filler, a light sand, and a topcoat. Build them tall to suit a bar-height table (a counter-height table wants shorter legs), and check they sit level and don't rock before you call one done.

Build the seat frame from the side and end aprons and the two supports with glue and 2" screws. Make sure it's square — the slats and breadboard ends all reference off it.
Attach the 1x3 breadboard ends with 1-1/4" screws and glue. Set a seat slat between them as a spacer to line them up without measuring.
Screw the five seat slats to the supports with glue and 1-1/4" screws, spaced evenly so rain drains through.
Attach the four legs to the seat aprons with 1-1/4" screws and glue. Check the stool sits level and doesn't rock.
Attach the longer bottom supports to both the shorter supports and the legs with 1-1/4" screws and glue, tying the legs together low. Give the stool at least a base finish coat, touch up screw holes with paintable silicone or filler, sand lightly, and add a topcoat.
