This dresser is built for accessories and smaller items, not bulk clothing storage — it trades drawer depth for height, and five narrow drawers instead of the usual four or five wide ones.
Most of the case is ripped-down plywood strips rather than full panels, which is what gives it a minimal, seamless look instead of the visible face-frame-and-panel look of a traditional dresser. Ripping the plywood first, then crosscutting to length, keeps every strip a consistent width without needing to rip each piece individually later.
The drawer faces get an inside 45° bevel along the top edge, which creates a subtle shadow gap between drawers instead of a flat butt joint — a small detail that reads as considered rather than accidental.

Assumes 8 ft stock, a 1/8" saw kerf, and buying each part at its own width. Change the board size or kerf on the full board plan →
Rip the plywood sheets into 16in wide strips, then crosscut them to the side-panel and top-panel sizes. Rip the 1x stock to width, cutting the longest pieces first.
Build the front frame from 1x3 strips with brad nails and glue, checking it for square by comparing its two diagonal measurements.
Attach the remaining 1x3 supports to the two plywood side panels — mirrored left and right — then attach the front frame to the assembled sides.
Attach 1x2 trim around the bottom of the case. Attach trim to the top panel's ends and front, glue it in place on the case, and nail through every available attachment point.
Attach trim to the front and back edges of the case, flush to the outside faces.
Build the five drawer boxes from 1x6 stock and install them on euro-style slides. Rip the 1x10 drawer faces to width with an inside 45-degree bevel on the top edge, attach them to the drawer boxes with brad nails, then reinforce each from behind with screws.
