This hutch is a plain shelf box — two sides, two shelves, a top, and a plywood back — elevated by a built-up crown made from four layers of 1x2 stacked and offset rather than a single moulded profile. That layered-trim approach is worth knowing for other projects too: a genuine crown moulding profile needs a router bit or a specialty blade, while stacking flat 1x2 in offset layers gets a similar visual weight at the top of a piece using only a miter saw and a nail gun.
Build the crown in the order given — bottom side pieces, then the front bottom piece, then the top side pieces, then the top front piece — because each layer's position depends on the one installed before it. Skipping ahead means re-measuring off a moving target instead of a fixed reference.

Fasten the sides to the shelves with 2" nails and glue, using your target dimensions to position each shelf. Then fasten the top to the sides the same way.
Fasten through the sides into the bottom support with 2" nails and glue.
Fasten the plywood back in place with 2" nails and glue — the back must be fastened to the shelves, not just the sides, since the shelves need that extra support. Use 3/4" nails and glue where the back meets the bottom support. Then fasten the header into place across the top front.
Attach two of the crown side pieces to begin the built-up crown, using 1-1/4" nails and glue.
Fasten the front bottom crown piece with 1-1/4" nails and glue.
Fasten the remaining two crown side pieces above the ones from the bottom layer, using 2" nails and glue, fastening through the face into the end edges of the top.
Add the final front top crown piece the same way as the front bottom piece. Add the side trim, sand every surface, and finish.
