Step-by-step build — 6 steps. Also available as a print sheet.
Drill all the pocket holes in the aprons first — two per apron end for the corner joints, plus one every 8" or so facing upward along the top edge for attaching the tabletop later. When you attach the legs, double-check the pocket holes point upward before driving screws — a leg attached with them facing the wrong way can't be un-drilled.
Join the side and end aprons into a box with pocket screws and glue, then attach the four purchased legs to the corners.
Attach the 1x2 trim around the underside of the apron for a layered, decorative look. This step is purely decorative — a table saw owner could instead groove the aprons directly for the same effect. Corner cross supports can be added here if extra rigidity is wanted, though the base is typically stiff enough without them.
Start with straight boards — a crooked board fights every clamp during glue-up. Join the seven 2x6 tabletop boards edge to edge with pocket holes, glue, and long bar clamps pulled tight across the width.
Once cured, trim any uneven ends square with a circular saw, then belt-sand the top flat. Fill any remaining gaps between boards with food-safe silicone to keep food and liquid from working into the cracks.
Flip the tabletop face-down, set the base on top so the pre-drilled pocket holes face the tabletop, and drive screws up through them into the top. Flip the assembled table over and finish.
