Mark the side legs and attach them to the shelves with glue and 2" screws or pocket hole screws.

Attach the front and back legs with finish nails and glue, or screws if you don't have a nailer.

Attach the shelf trim and side shelf trim to both shelves with a nailer, keeping the shelf tops flush. Trim can be left off the bottom shelf if desired.

Attach the drawer box dividers and center trim in place with brad nails and glue, forming the center drawer opening.

Attach the drawer guides flush to the inside faces of the legs so the drawer runs straight.

Attach the top, overhanging about 1" on the sides and front, then nail on the top trim with 2" finish nails and glue.

Attach the plywood back panel if you want a closed cabinet look. Leave it off to let the side bays pass straight through.

Attach the drawer backs to the drawer bottoms, then attach the sides to the back and bottom of each drawer box.

Place each drawer box inside its opening without the face attached, center the face over the opening for an even gap, then nail it on with 2" finish nails and glue.

Remove the drawers and fill all holes with wood filler, applying two coats since filler shrinks as it dries. Sand with 120 grit sandpaper, then prime and paint or stain as desired. Add knobs.
