Build two matching legs for each sawhorse you're making. Pocket holes work well for attaching the top piece to each leg pair, but nailing and gluing it on works too.
Nail and glue the inside blocking piece onto each leg assembly.
Nail and glue the horizontal support pieces to the two leg assemblies, joining them into the finished sawhorse shape. Compare both sawhorses side by side here — this is the point to catch any height or angle mismatch before it's locked in.
Nail and glue the shelf boards to the bottom horizontal supports, spaced evenly across the span between the legs.
